New moon takes place on the 20th July in Pushya Nakshatra.
The major aspect for the new moon is Saturn in direct opposition (180 degrees) presenting a cycle of forced emotional maturity.
Pushya is the constellation also known as the ‘star of nurturing’ residing in Cancer zodiac (Sidereal).
Pushya Themes:
- Nourishment, care giving
- Counselling, advisory boards
- Generosity
- Home cooked meals
Pushya is symbolised by the Goat. Goats do not like to be alone, are gentle, fun, curious creatures that are also picky eaters and like to eat very clean food.
Spiritually, the Goat represents an independent fighting spirit in search for new opportunities to ‘climb to the top’.
Saturn Opposite the New Moon
Saturn opposing this new moon represents restriction, delay, harsh reality and practicality to our emotional state and ability to express ourselves. The way in which we give and receive and our nature to care for and connect with others on an emotional level will be under heavy scrutiny during this time.
In our personal endeavours, we have been forced this year to reassess our goals and look at where we have needed to cut back. In this article we talk about what Saturn is doing between January 2020 and January 2023.
Our aim in 2020 to ‘climb to the top’ in our own personal goals may not have manifested to the degree in which we had hoped.
The plus side?
We are being asked to accept that this is the Universe’s way of guiding us to an alternate path, which looks at how our skills and talents can be put to good use, which is safer and more secure for the long hall.
This will require further adjustment both materially and psychologically; emotional resilience will be put to the test during this new moon phase.
Trust that where you are being guided may not feel good now but is protecting you for the long haul.
Watch for absorbing other’s emotions and learn to work through your own shadow. Incredible emotional growth is available to you at this time.
Meditation, breathing and Yogic practices to help you during this time. Now more than ever, I urge you to make these practices a non-negotiable part of your routine.
What’s the take away?
- You can’t please everyone
- If you aren’t inspired, don’t force a move. It won’t be the right time
- Look after yourself
- You cannot effectively love another if you aren't feeling love from within.
- Swallow your pride and reassess your options when confronted by delay/restriction
